Really enjoyed this, Vanessa. Great read. I did know about morphine lollipops, though I don't remember from what reference. I haven't read The Goldfinch, but that's a wonderful passage you quoted.

Enjoy TGS! I'm envious. Would love to be there. Would absolutely love a post about what you get to see/play etc, along with pics! :)

Thank you, Nathan! I think you might enjoy The Goldfinch, beautiful writing all around.

I'll probably write about TGS too! Planning on test playing Monster Hunter Wilds, the new Trails game (Nihon Falcom) & listen to a Trails soundtrack concert. Metaphor ReFantazio I'm also excited about but I already got to play at an Atlus-exclusive event a few months ago.

PS looks like a demo (prologue, with save game carryover) is coming for Metaphor. Hype!

Metaphor is one of my most anticipated games for the rest of the year, and only a few weeks away! How was/is it? Are you allowed to say?

Yes, MH Wilds looks excellent. I've played and enjoyed the last few entries in the series (starting on 3DS, then PS4, then PC, then Switch... Will be back to PC for this one I think).

Yes, it was a public event! If I remember correctly, there were 3 demos to choose from, I chose the "story mode" one. It had some dialogue & some battle sequences, very fun all around & gorgeous of course. I was kind of rushing because I didn't know how much time we had. Turned out it was a pre-set chunk of early game that ended just before a mini boss fight. My friend who went with me chose dungeon mode with more interesting battle but less dialogue.

There was / will be exclusive merchandise too which I'm strangely excited for. Japan is slowly turning me into a merch collector haha.

As for MH, I've only recently started playing Rise & am really enjoying it so far so I figured why not try the new one too! (Also, another friend works at Capcom in Osaka now.)
