What is Lab Notes?

Lab Notes is a new monthly series: brief notes on what I've been reading, writing, and otherwise loving in the past month. It's bonus content, which is why it will be paid going forward. Here's a quick Q&A.

Q: Why go paid at all?

A: I’ve wanted to add some paid offerings for a while. Free exchange of ideas and art is beautiful but under capitalism, writers also have to think about making a living. I would love nothing more than to be able to write full time but at the moment, employment takes up a significant amount of my time. At the same time, I don't want to ask for support without giving back. These lab notes will be my exclusive offering to paid subscribers.

Q: Why Lab Notes?

A: This monthly series is meant as a glimpse into the daily writing life, a peak behind the scenes, and occasionally a teaser of newsletters to come. Since I anticipate it to be more personal, the paywall acts as a bit of privacy protection too.

Q: What will be the ratio of paid vs. free going forward?

A: At least 80% of Occam’s Lab will always stay free.

If you’re curious or just want to support my writing, consider upgrading to paid! Every yen will go back into writing Occam’s Lab.
