Your strategy for building conflict in each scene keeps me coming back for the next one…unfortunate I do not have a guess as to who the third party might be, but I suspect they have a powerful interest in control!
Thank you for following along, Brian! I have what you might call an inferiority complex about suspense in my stories. I prefer quiet & subtle to epic & flashy so I constantly worry that there isn't enough suspense or the flow of conflict-resolution / speeding up-slowing down isn't done right to keep readers engaged. So glad to know it works for you!
