Wait, that's not what I was... fine, have it your way haha. Glowshroom elves do make for an interesting mental image. (Is it still fan art if I commission it myself?)
A very good summary, thanks for posting. Sign me up ;)
I love that you have a project-specific playlist. I really need to do that.
Your description immediately made me think of Hallownest (from the game Hollow Knight, if you don't know it), the most glorious of soundtracks by Christopher Larkin (https://youtu.be/CbaFAQbCkdc).
Ooh, I know Hollow Knight, that soundtrack is divine. Adding part of it to the playlist as we speak! I hadn't thought of it before, probably because this setting is actually older than the game (which is surreal even for me).
Dirtmouth is such a beautiful track (as are many others) and the game, brutal as it is, holds a special place in my heart due to the soundtrack and visual design.
Substack is certainly an exciting 'new' way for many writers to share their work. It's very interesting to see the many different ways writers are testing, experimenting and moulding their work to best fit the platform.
Am I moulding my work to the platform? I guess! It feels a little safer than committing to an entire novel, both in terms of plot & posting schedule. Less margin for error.
You're right, of course, it's such an exciting place for all of us!
Congratulations on taking on such an ambitious project! I just read the first chapter and I’m already curious to see how the story will continue. I love the names you chose for your characters! The pacing of the story is great with enough details to give me a glimpse about the world but not too much that it feels like exposition. Good luck with your serial!
Thank you, I'm so happy you like the first chapter!
Glad you like the names too. I'm never sure how English speakers respond to my names because I involuntarily construct them with German pronunciation in my mind. Usira or Kandamsin (the city), for example... Luckily no complaints so far.
Hi Vanessa, English is not my native tongue but Romanian, which is a Romance language and for me it's easy to pronounce all the names. I'm sure that an American reader might experience the names differently. But I think that they good for an international audience.
Looking forward to the Glowshroom Elves! Good luck, Vanessa.

Congrats on the adventure! Sounds great. Look forward to reading it!
Thanks for following along, Andres! :)
